Landlord Evicts Tenant For Borrowing His Family Member Money

A Landlord in Imo State Nigeria has evicted one of his tenants for borrowing his family member money.

The tenant gave Mrs Patience Ishiguzo who is the landlord brother's wife 50,000 Naira to do her mother's burial in Akwa Ibom State.

The tenant, Mr Stephen Nnadi, who has a shop along Mbaise Road, Owerri prior to the eviction, said the landlord came to his shop to buy some items, only for him to be given a quit notice by a court bailiff accompanied by an armed policewoman the next day.

He said he was not owing the landlord that the only thing he did was borrowing his brother's wife 50,000 Naira for her mother's burial.

The woman who is a widow said he approached the landlord for help and he gave her only 10,000 Naira.

The landlord when contacted said the house is his own and he has the right to evict anyone he feels like evicting.
